Raw wild tea leaves gathered from the peaks of remote mountains make up the main composition of this privately ordered batch of teacakes. The sheer power and harsh elements of the untamed wild leaves at the time resulted in the mixture of a small quantity of cooked/shu leaves (10%). The sweet mellow nature of the cooked leaves was used to soften the harsher elements of the raw wild leaves. Each teacake was handmade and sun dried followed by a loose compression. This tea is highly fragrant and has lasting stamina that is reflected in multiple steeps of 10 and upwards.

The passing years have not been spent in idle. This tea shows complexity and a wonderful development that merits great potential for the future. Displaying good clarity this tea possesses a medium body that is becoming progressively thicker and smoother with age. After flushing the leaves open up to powerful aromas of aged wood, sweet plums, summer fruits and heather before tailing off with notes of organics and peat. The tea carries prominent aged wood characteristics with emerging notes of heavy fruits and sweetness while still retaining a rawness and traces of tannins and peat. The drying finish offers a long and lingering fragrance at the back of the throat.
