can be traced to 4 now highly popular productions that started in the
mid to late 90s. Although each of these productions was quite sizeable
this did not affect the quality of the raw material. The production
of these teacakes occurred before the Puerh boom and good quality leaves
were readily available at the time. 1) 1996 Zhenchunya Hao, Zhenchunya

have continued to shine. They have became not only favorites in many
tea collections but an essential reference for studies on the ageing
and development of old growth tea. Many comparative tasting sessions
involving these teas and plantation teacakes have been conducted by
experts and tea aficionados alike. The general consensus recognizes
old growth teas as being superior in both ageing potential and possessing
more enjoyable characteristics in taste and aroma.
